Position: Network Security Engineer

Overview:
The Network Security Engineer at GridSecurity will play a critical role in ensuring the security and reliability of our managed security services. This position involves supporting the onboarding of new operations, resolving operational issues, and enhancing the security infrastructure for inverter-based generators and control centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, network operations, and compliance, contributing to our mission of enabling a secure energy future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managed Security Services: Assist in deploying new infrastructure, integrating tools and services, and continually improving system reliability and security.
• Operational Support: Serve as an escalation point to resolve day-to-day operational issues and provide support for ongoing project initiatives related to security operations technology.
• Security Design and Monitoring: Design, implement, and monitor security controls as per contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Client Communication: Collaborate with clients to resolve escalated operational issues, remediate security risks, and develop innovative solutions and capabilities.
• Infrastructure Management: Support the architecture, deployment, administration, and monitoring of network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and intrusion detection systems.
• Documentation and Processes: Assist in building and documenting processes and procedures to effectively manage security services.
• Business Development: Work with the team to connect with potential clients, develop value-added services, and expand GridSecurity's client base.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in cybersecurity, network security, and NERC CIP compliance.
• Strong understanding of security controls, network infrastructure management, and incident response.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with automation tools and programming languages such as Ansible, Python, and APIs.
  
  

Work Environment:

Location:
This position is remote-friendly with occasional visits to GridSecurity’s headquarters in Folsom, CA, and client sites as necessary.
